Actress Olivia Wilde, who was recently in talks to take over from Oscar winning actress Angelina Jolie as the new `Lara Croft` will not play the title role in the forthcoming `Tomb Raider` reboot.
According to her representative, the `Tron: Legacy` star will not play the role previously essayed by Jolie in two critically panned films: `Lara Croft: Tomb Raider` and its sequel `Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life`, Daily Star reported.
The 26-year-old actress has been widely tipped to play the action hero, which is being recognised by the Guinness World Records as the `most popular female video game` character and has sold over 35 million units worldwide.
Wilde`s next comedy movie is `Butter` opposite Hugh Jackman and she recently wrapped up filming `Cowboys and Aliens` starring Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig.
