Thalapathy to be remade in Hindi after 20 years

The Tamil film Thalapathy which had Rajnikanth and Mammooty in the cast is now to be remade in Hindi. Directed by the ace director Manirathnam, this film was based on certain incidents of the characters of Karna and Duryodhana in Mahabharata.


Thalapathy which was released in 1991 was a super hit film. Now after 20 years, this film is being remade in Hindi. Bharath Bhai had recently come to Chennai and met director Manirathnam and asked him for the Hindi remake rights of Thalapathy. Manirathnam had agreed for this and gave him the remake rights. Puja Jatinder Bedi.


Bharath Bhai while speaking about this said, " This film was released 20 years ago. Hence the story will be changed according to the present day situations. The stunt sequences will also be made in a modern way. There will be no change in the screenplay and the characters. Currently I am producing a film titled Ghost. The shooting of Thalapathy will commence after the release of Ghost."
