Anushka is said to be in need to stay away for as long a period as possible from Andhra Pradesh.

Anushka appears to be on a signing spree in Tamil films. The actress has already delivered two films in Tamil this year. One of them, Vaanam, was quite successful at the box-office while the other, Deivathirumagal, was not as successful as the first one but did get the actress rave reviews from the press and the movie-goers. Anushka sizzled as a sex-worker in Vaanam and then shone in the role of a fiery advocate in Vikram’s Deivathirumagal.

With contrasting roles in back-to-back films, Anushka once again proved that she could get into any kind of role and do full justice to the character. Of late, though, she appears to be committing herself to more and more Tamil films than Telugu films. In recent weeks, Anushka has taken up projects like Selvaa’s Irandaam Ulagam opposite Arya and Thandavam opposite Vikram. She also has a few more projects in the pipeline, including an offer to star opposite superstar Rajinikanth in his upcoming film.

Anushka is said to be in need to stay away for as long a period as possible from Andhra Pradesh. When ‘probed’ deep about the issue, a plausible explanation was putforth by a source from Andhra Pradesh.

Her new-found interest in singing up Tamil films seems to be the fall-out of the recently conducted Income Tax raids at her residence and other premises owned by her in Hyderabad and elsewhere.

It is further reported that a local politician wielding clout was behind the raids at Anushka’s residence and at other places. In order not to let the issue grow further, Anushka thought it best to stay away from Andhra Pradesh for some time by catering to the needs and expectations of her growing number of fans in Tamil Nadu!
