Vijay's Nanban which got released this thursday is exempted from entertainment tax in Tamil Nadu.
It is the first film to get the benefit under a new scheme introduced by the Jayalalithaagovernment.
The state government had constituted a panel comprising of 22 personalities drawn from various wings of the film industry, to recommend films eligible for entertainment tax exemption.
Nanban is directed by S Shankar with Music by Harris Jayaraj.
