The dispute between FEFSI and the Producers’ Council is slowly inching towards a complete resolution. However, the shooting of Tamil films has not been completely stalled as called for by the union. It is only the small players who have been completely shut down. All big budget movies are moving ahead in one way or the other. Billa 2, Viswaroopam, Thuppakki, Kumki are some of the films making progress. All these films are being shot outside Tamil Nadu and some outside India. While this may be seen as a non-co-operation to the ongoing strike, the film makers have been left with no option but to go ahead with the shooting. All major stars have date issues and once the designated dates slip past, regrouping combinations of busy actors can be almost impossible. The losses incurred due to such delays can be manifold. Keeping these factors in mind, people behind these big budget ventures have decided that it is best to go ahead with their plans as the problems here get sorted out in due course.
