Kushboo is on top of the world these days and she has every reason to rejoice! The gritty woman, who stands for what she believes in and comes out victorious every time she is dragged into a controversy, has been invited to address the International Conference of Youth by the United Nations Organization. The 40-year-old erstwhile diva was in an ecstatic mood when this newspaper contacted her.“The UN is planning a series of events to stress on the empowerment of youth. I have been specially invited by them to address a conference to be held between the 15th and 18th of this month at UN Habitat’s headquarters in Nairobi,” she says with a contented smile. Ask her how she was chosen despite being a south star and pat comes her reply, “I really don’t know! In their invite letter, it was mentioned that they have been observing me and that they saw me as the sole struggler who emerged a winner! They said that they were also monitoring my work on the screen and as an individual. Probably, that is what initiated the UN to invite me to address the topic ‘Empowerment of Woman and Better Future for the GenY’,” she muses. The actress-turned-politician is quick to add, “It was least expected! I didn’t even react for a moment when I got a call from them. It is a very proud moment for me! More than the struggles I have gone through, emerging successful against all odds was more important for me,” she asserts! On her preparations she says, “It is a rare privilege for me to represent our country in an international conclave. I know the whole world will be watching me talk. So, I have already started on my homework and looking up references.”
