He rose to fame for his television series the Flop Show, which was produced by his wife Savita. Both Jaspal and Savita had acted as husband and wife in this series making it a hit during the 1990s.
Jaspal was seen in films like Mausam, Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye, uch Naa Kaho, and Aa Ab Laut Chalen. He was survived by wife Savita, son Jasraj and daughter Raabiya.
