As per the norms set by Bollywood’s fighter’s association that for a bilingual film it is the double and for the trilingual films it is the triple payment to be paid by the producers of the film.
Now, the same problem is facing by the producer of ‘Raththa Charithram’. As it is a trilingual film which is being made in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, the producer of the film was asked to pay three times more tariffs than a normal one.
Sheetal Talwar, producer of the movie says, “It’s true we were asked to pay up three times the normal levy for the fights in ‘Raththa Charithram’. The argument given was that Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavanan’ which is in two languages (Tamil and Hindi) had to pay twice the levy. But we argued back that in Raavanan all the fights in the two languages were different since the Tamil and Hindi versions of the film star difference actors. In ‘Raththa Charithram’ we have exactly the same cast in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and the fights have not been shot twice over. Only the close-ups in the two versions are different.”
Finally, they confined to receive double payment rather than triple payment. But, the producers of the film are still not ready to pay the double amount as it will be an extra burden of Rs 50-60 lakhs on their budget.
It’s very tough fight to say who will win the argument…
