Tiger Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, reportedly wants their new $80 million Jupiter Island mansion in Martin County, Florida as part of their divorce settlement, reports Radar Online.
Some of the wealthiest people in the country live on the Island, which has the nation's second highest per capita income. Celine Dion, Burt Reynolds and golfer Nick Price are some of the notable residents.
Elin is reported to have helped design the mansion that is nearly completion, and has a good network of friends in the nearby area.
One reason why Tiger might not want to part with the property would be its 9,500 sm gym and oxygen therapy room that were especially built for him. However, allowing Elin to take the property would make child visitations easy for him, following their divorce.
It was earlier reported that Elin wanted to move to her home country Sweden with the children following their divorce.
Elin has now decided to stay on in the US but continues to seek full custody of daughter Sam Alexis (b. 2007) and son Charlie Axel (b. 2009), something Tiger will not be amenable to if he doesn't have easy access to them in the US.
Lawyers representing Tiger and Elin have been at work for months to arrive at a confidential child custody and property settlement prior to filing for divorce.
"Tiger wants to be near his children," a source familiar with the couple's situation told Radar Online. "They are definitely moving forward with the divorce but there are a lot of issues to be worked out.
