Selva says, “I’ve completed the post-production work on Muriyadi. Most probably, the film should hit the screens this December. We are planning to start the promotional activities by the month end.”
Produced by K. Balachander under the banner of Kavithalaya Productions, the film is a remake of yesteryear Malayalam blockbuster ‘Passengers’.
The story revolves around three important characters: a lawyer, a Government employee and a reporter. Ganesh Venkataram, who made his debut with ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ and shot to fame with his mind-boggling performance as dashing young cop in ‘Unnai Pol Oruvan’ performs the lead role while veteran actor Sathyaraj takes on the other lead character with Ramya Nambeesan enacting the role performed by Mamta Mohandas in original version.
Selva has also finished shooting for ‘Naanga’, a film starring nine newcomers. The 9 newbies are: Munish (son of Telugu music director Vasu Rao), Nivas (son of actor Dayalan), Vinodh (son of production manager Gurusamy), Vivek (son of Kerala Film Producers’ Council member), Arun (son of production manager Sasi), Ashwin (son of LMM Productions’ V Swaminathan), Virumandi (son of actor Periyakaruppu Devar), Sanjay (son of actor Santhana Bharathi), and Sahir (son of singer Mano). Sahir will play the villain role in this film.
“The film is in the final stage of post-production. We are also planning to shoot a promotional video for the film in Dubai, which will introduce the nine lead characters to the audience. We will be shooting this video by the end of the month,” he says.
Selva also is in talks with Kannada producer Shailendra Babu for a bi-lingual film. “Shailendra is planning to launch his son in both Kannada and Tamil. And I might direct his Tamil debut vehicle”
