During Assembly elections in 2006 Simran participated in campaign trail for AIADMK, which was ruling part then. With the next Assembly elections coming up she wanted to stay away from the politics this time.She said, “I am not made up for politics. I will not make a reentry into politics and I have other interests”.

We knew from her close associates that she is planning to produce a mega serial in small screen and she is also planning to act as a lead role in one of her production venture for a popular television channel.
