Divya Spandana, grand daughter of S.M. Krishna, Hon’ble Union Minister for External Affairs, appears unruffled by these allegations and says that her conscience is clear. Unconfirmed reports also say that Divya, who plays Jiiva’s heroine in ‘Singampuli’, gave a torrid time to the film’s crew during the latest schedule of the film’s shooting.
Jiiva plays the twin roles of a fish merchant as well as an advocate in the film. As per the script, he sells fishes at the fish market in Chennai’s Kasimedu locality. Divya, who pairs up with the ‘fish merchant’, couldn’t stand the nauseating smell of the raw fish and as soon as the first shot was okayed, she made her way back to the hotel without bothering to inform the crew about her exit from the scene of shooting.
Following Hindu Makkal Katchi’s call to producers and directors to ‘avoid’ casting Divya in their films, Gautham Menon (who had cast her as the third heroine in ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’) announced that he would henceforth avoid Divya from all his films.
However, director Vijay of ‘Poi Solla Porom’, ‘Kireedom’ and ‘Madarasapattinam’ fame, is said to be thinking about casting Divya as the third heroine in his upcoming film titled ‘Deiva Magan’ which stars Vikaram in the lead and already has two heroines in Anoushka Shetty and Amala Paul.
