The film features Pa Vijay, Meera Jasmine and Kushboo in the lead has been cleared by the Regional Censor Board in Chennai with a clean 'U' certificate.
The S Martin produced film has heavy promotions going on in print and television.
Ilaignan is a period drama reported to be made on a budget of around Rs 25 Crore. A huge ship was built at Binny Mill by art director Thotta Tharani for the film in which important scenes were shot.
The film is scheduled to release big in around 200 to 250 screens on Pongal day.
