Denying media reports which claimed that the Hindi version of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ has been dropped due to unavoidable reasons, Gautham Vasudev Menon has said the project is on.

“We are now on a small break as Prateik Babbar (the protagonist) is busy promoting his ‘Dhobhi Ghat’ (produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Kiran Rao), which is hitting screens in January,” the director said.

He added: “Also, Amy Jackson (of ‘Madraspattinam’(Tamil) fame) is learning Hindi by attending coaching classes to get her act right while standing in front of the camera for the Bollywood version of VTV.”

Saying that she would come to India once the shooting dates are confirmed, the filmmaker said ‘YMC’ is one of the films which is very close to his heart. In the meantime, Gautham’s directorial venture ‘Nadunisi Naaigal’(Tamil) and production venture ‘Veppam’(Tamil) are getting ready for release.
