Siruthai Under Trouble by Nadar Makkal Katchi (NMK) community raised an objection the name used Rocket Raja

In Kollywood industry protests have become quite common these days. The films are getting affected with some or the other issue by some communities. Recently it happened with Kamal Hassan’s Manmadhan Ambu and prior to that it happened with Dhanush starrer Uthamaputhiran.

Now it is with Karthi starrer Siruthai, which is haunted by Nadar Makkal Katchi (NMK). The community raised an objection with the name used for character of a pick pocket in the film as Rocket Raja. NMK feels that the character name is like criticizing their leader name, whose name also happened to be Rocket Raja.

The protesters crowded around Karthi’s house at Krishna street in T.Nagar and raised slogans against Karthi. They demanded the film makers to change the name with immediate effect. The police took 100 protesters into custody and Karthi’s house has been given tight security.
