Let’s see will Thalaivar’s daughter prove her mettle?

Top notch cameramen Velraj has cranked the camera for this romantic film 3, produced by Dhanush’s father director turn producer Kasthoori Raja. National award winner and the Kolaveri boy Dhanush, who has marked a huge chartbuster hit singer with ‘Why this kolaveri di…’ track composed by newbie Anirudh Ravichander and also won a CNN best song award in 2011, will the young music composer, who already got rave reviews from music lovers and prove himself that he is here to stay in Kollywood.

Birthday wishes to Prakash Raj

Prakash Rai, better known as Prakash Raj was born on 26th March 1965, in Puttur in Karnataka. He studied in St Joseph Indian High School in Bangalore; he later did his college from Joseph’s college of Commerce, Bangalore, where he used to participate in many Plays. His carrer starts with acting in Doordarshan Kendra serials in Karnataka and he did some supporting roles in Kannada movies before he debuted in Tamil films with the legendary director K.Balachander. Director K.Balachander rechristened him as Prakash Raj for debut Tamil Movie ‘Duet’, later on, he did many movies. The Telugu movie ‘Okkadu’ really pulled him all the strings and then he never looked back, he later went on to act in Hindi movies also, he was awarded best Actor for his negative role for the movie ‘Singham’, he also got many National Awards earlier for Tamil movies. He even won National award as a Best actor for the movie ‘Kanjeevaram’ in Tamil directed by Priyadarshan for the year 2008. In 1998 he won National award as a Best Supporting actor for the film “Iruvar/Iddaru” in the direction of maverick director Manirathnam. He was awarded a Special Jury Award in the National awards for the film ‘Anthahpuram’ Telugu in the year 1999 and another special jury award in National awards for the films ‘Dhaya”, Tamil and ‘Khadgam’, Telugu for the year 2003.He then started his Production House named it after his first movie ‘Duet Films’, under this banner he produced many movies which were very good movies until now. He then ventured in as a Director, he made his first movie in Kannada in 2012, later on recently he made another movie titled’ Dhoni’ in his direction which was released in both Tamil and Telugu languages. Before that he directed one Kannada film “Naanu Naanna Kanasu” which is a re-make of his Tamil hit film ‘Abhiyum Naanum”. He got married to Choreographer Pony Varma in August 2010, after divorcing his earlier wife Lalitha Kumari, with whom he has two daughters Meghna and Pooja, he also had a son named Sidhu who died after he had a fatal fall from a high rise building while flying Kite in Chennai.  At present he is doing Dil Raju’s multistarrer film ‘SVSC”, Telugu. On his birthday, Myfirstshow.com wishes him “A Happy Birthday” and wishes him good luck for his future projects.

Kollywood has no big releases for New Year

Kollywood is not gearing up with any big movie releases on Tamil New Year Day on April 14th, despite the fact that, films that cast biggies can be screened only on 8 days in a year for Pongal, Independence Day, Tamil New Year, May Day, Diwali, March first week, June first week and mid-December..


It is known that, most of the films small/big have delayed the release dates during this year, as the shootings were put to halt due to the tussles between technicians and producers council and this cold war has not been halted yet. Films namely Dhanush starrer 3, Karthi’s Saguni, Thala Ajith’s Billa 2 and producer Udhayanidhi’s hero debut Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, which were slated to release during April/May have postponed their earlier slated release dates.


Dhanush and Shruthi Hassan starrer 3 is finally set to see the day light on March 30 in Tamil and Telugu, before the Tamil New Years Day, as most of them are done with their academic exams. Oru Kal Oru Kannadi that casts producer Udhayanidhi Stalin and Hansika is slated to hit the mega screens of Kollywood on April 6th, while Karthi’s Saguni was delayed due to the change of baddie and Ajith’s Billa 2 has not finalized the release dates yet.

Aaravaan Aadhi & Sarath Kumar to join Rajinikanth

The happening actor Aadhi of Aaravaan fame, has taken an early flight to London today along with Sarath Kumar, to join Superstar’s Kochadaiyaan team.


As way2movies reported viewers prior, Kochadaiyaan is the debutant directorial of Soundarya R Ashwin that casts Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone in the leads, which will commenced its shooting in London and will be shot for about a 20 to 25 days there, while the remaining movie will be filmed here in Chennai. The cast and crew of the movie has fly down to London for the shoot.


Radhika Sarath Kumar said, “Off to London with Sarath and Rahul. Rajini’s ‘Kochadaiyaan’ to hit the floors from tomorrow.” Kochadaiyaan also casts veteran actress Shobana, Nassar, Jackie Shroff and Radhika in the pivotal roles. Director K.S.Ravikumar will be supervising the movie that has music scored by AR Rahman. Bail petition Denied to Actress Alphonsa

A Chennai Court has dismissed the anticipatory bail petition of actress Alphonsa, who is facing an allegation that she was the reason behind the "mysterious death" of budding actor P Vinod Kumar, at her house in Virugambakkam recently.


Principal district and sessions judge P Kalaiyarasan, while passing orders on Wednesday, said the petition filed by the actress could not be entertained as police inquiry was pending.


The father of Vinod Kumar, who "committed suicide" at Alphonsa's apartment, recently met Greater Chennai police commissioner J K Tripathy and sought action against Alphonsa and two others in connection with his son's "mysterious death".


Also, Vinod Kumar's uncle B Sugumaran lodged a complaint at the Virugambakkam police station seeking legal action against Alphonsa and her brother Robertraj, a dancer in Kollywood.


Vinod, a native of Kalpakkam, had been living with Alphonsa for a few months. He allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the apartment. His death drove the actress to attempt suicide, but she was saved.

Saranya while speaking about this said, "The director told me that I have to pose in nude since the story demanded it. So to act in that sequence, a skin dress was readied at a cost of Rs 36 thousands. I wore this dress and acted in the sequence. The duration of this sequence in this film is about 3 minutes. I acted a whole night.


I was not startled or nervous. The sequence was not shot secretly. The director, cinematographer and other technicians were present when this sequence was shot. There is no vulgarity or obscene in this sequence and that is the reason the Censor Board has awarded this film with a U certificate."

Asin Needs to act only in commercial films

Southern actress Asin Thottumkal, who started her Bollywood journey with "Ghajini", says she wants to focus only on commercial movies. "Right now I am concentrating on commercial space. If in commercial space I get a good character, then I will cope up with that. But not deviating from commercial cinema because it reaches out to a larger audience," Asin told. "I want to stay in the commercial space...within that space if I get a fleshy character. I would love to do it," added the 26-year-old.

Priya Mani is all set to do a woman-centric Sandalwood film

National-award winning actress, dusky beauty Priya Mani is all set to do a woman-centric Sandalwood film, titled Charulatha.


This is the first of sorts for her, though she has done a few films of this genre in Tollywood and Mollywood. Charulatha will be launched on the occasion of Ugadi. Dwarakish will produce the film, while his son Yogish will be the executive producer. "Priya Mani is working with me again for a woman-oriented film. She is currently in Spain and will be signing the agreement after her return," confirms Yogish. The movie will be directed by V Kumar, who had earlier directed Kiccha Sudeep's Only Vishnuvardhana.  Incidentally, a 10-day shoot of the film has already been planned.

The actress, who is currently in Chennai, is using the time to spend it with family. "I am down with a really bad viral attack, so completely homebound for a week," Trisha informed. She may not be able to step out, but what she is enjoying at home is being pampered by her mother."I am getting completely pampered by mum and everyone at home. It's always good to be in Chennai...
