Vikram committed to star in Vasanthabalan’s film in September

Actor Vikram is soaking in the accolades pouring his way for his awesome performance in his latest film ‘Deivathirumagal’. The role of a person with ‘special needs’, which Vikram has portrayed ever-so-realistically in the film, has earned him more number of fans. Quietly, the actor has already moved on to his next project ‘Rajapattai’.

Ramesh, the producer of ‘Rajapattai’, was arrested by the police some time back and the production work has now been taken over by the film’s financier. The film pairs the sexy Deeksha Seth opposite Vikram. The shooting, which had been suspended following Ramesh’s arrest, has begun in right earnest from yesterday.

Vikram had also committed to star in Vasanthabalan’s film in September next year for which he had given call-sheet for 90 days on-trot. For some reasons, though, Vikram has now opted out of the project and has informed the award-winning director of his decision to quit the film. In place of Vasanthabalan’s film, Vikram is said to have decided to star in K.V. Anand’s film slated to go to the floors at that time.

Besides ‘Rajapattai’, Vikram also has ‘Karikalan’, another mega-budget film. The film is likely to star Zarine Khan, the Katrina Kaif-lookalike from Bollywood, opposite Vikram. The busy star might also rejoin Vijay, the director of ‘Deivathirumagal’, to star in another film where his character would have shades of grey.

Chances of a short-term film with Bala is also not ruled out, says sources close to Vikram.
