Magnitude 7.0 earthquake strikes under sea south of Japan; no tsunami warning issued
TOKYO — A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.0 struck under the sea several hundred miles (kilometers) south of Japan on Sunday, shaking buildings in the capital, but officials said there was no danger of a tsunami.
The quake struck near the uninhabited island of Torishima in the Pacific Ocean, about 600 kilometers (370 miles) south of Tokyo, and its epicenter was about 370 kilometers (230 miles) below the sea, the Meterological Agency said.
The agency said there was no danger of a tsunami.
Buildings in the Tokyo area shook but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. Express trains in northern and central Japan were suspended temporarily for safety checks but later resumed.
No abnormalities were reported at power plants in the region, including the crippled nuclear power plant hit by the March earthquake and tsunami, public broadcaster NHK reported.
Northeastern Japan was devastated by a massive earthquake and tsunami on March 11 that left nearly 20,000 people dead or missing. Japan, which lies along the Pacific “Ring of Fire,” is one of the world’s most seismically active countries.

AR Rahman talks again about Dam999
Having been criticized for his comments, AR Rahman released a press statement saying that he was hurt because his comments had been taken out of context to create a scandal. Being a Tamilian himself he said that the Tamils and their unflagging support have been instrumental to his success and he will never forget that. Thanks to his involvement in Hollywood projects for the past three years, he did not realize the gravity of the Mullaiperiyar issue between Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
AR Rahman said that he supported former president Abdul Kalam's stand on the issue as he had suggested the interlinking of the rivers to avoid problems. ARR added that the world was watching India's rapid growth with respect and this is thanks to our unity and we should always remain united.
ARR also wished his fans a Merry CHristmas and a Happy New Year before signing off.

They won themselves an offer to meet and interact with the team of 'Rajapattai' - director Suseenthiran, and lead actors Vikram and Deeksha Seth, through IndiaGlitz.
During the interaction with his fans Vikram revealed that he would soon be working with Suseenthiran again! The rapport between Vikram and Suseenthiran seems to have stemmed out due to the comfort and ease level the director and Vikram shared during the making of 'Rajapattai.'
Suseenthiran is known for realistic entertainers. All his films have a realistic element which is subtly entwined into the plot, due to which the audience love to come back to watch his films every time.
At the moment Vikram is busy with 'Thaandavam' and 'Karikalan.' Whereas, the director is spending some "me" time with family. He will be continuing to shoot for his 'Veera Dheera Sooran' with Vishnu in the lead.
The director and Vikram will probably get together after both of them are done with their current projects. For now, we will just have to wait and wonder if this next is going to be a commercial mass masala similar to 'Rajapattai' or if it will be an offbeat venture.

3 Audio Launched in Dhanush Own Style
Dhanush was present clad in a white Armani and beside him was the woman of his life, wife Aishwarya. The couple looked attractive and entertained the gathered. They sang and danced. The crowd went crazy when Dhanush sang and performed for 'Kolaveri Di...' The man behind the music of '3,' Anirudh, was also present. All this fun that took place during the audio launch of 3 will be telecast on Sun TV soon...
The album of '3' comprises of a m�lange of foot tapping numbers and some soft melodious songs sung by Vijay Yesudas, Mohit Chauhan, Shwetha Mohan, Anirudh, new singers Satya Prakash and Ajeesh. Yet another highlight is that all songs except one have been penned by Dhanush and the remaining one has been penned by Aishwarya.

Jiiva Clears the Controversy

Billa 2 – the first 4 months of 2012
The team successfully wrapped their shoot in Georgia recently. After flying back to Chennai, a photo shoot by G Venket Ram took place in here with the cast and crew of the film in full attendance.
This film which is one of the most expected movies of 2012 is a prequel to the 2007 super hit 'Billa' and showcases what events led to David becoming Billa, one of the most powerful dons internationally.
