Uthama Puthiran film centers on a happy-go-lucky youngster (Dhanush) hailing from a rich family and is well pampered by his family members. When the family elders arrange marriage for their daughter (played by Thamanah in original version), he helps her get married with her boyfriend.This galls his parents, who push him out of their sight. Meanwhile, the protagonist tends to kidnap a beautiful girl (Genelia D’Souza) as a mistaken identity, with whom he had fell in love at first sight and couldn’t know her whereabouts. Meanwhile, it’s revealed that the girl herself wasn’t interested in this marriage and wanted fly for USA to escape from the clutches of her deadly uncles.
Now, it’s up to the guy to save his belle from the speculative situation and win her heart.
