Mysskin Nandalala Movie Review

Nandalala
Movie Name: Nandalala

Cast: Mysskin, Snigdha Akolkar, Ashwath Ram

Director: Mysskin

Producer: K. Karunamoorthy, C. Arunpandiyan

Music Director: Ilayaraja

Rating: 2.25/5

Nandalala story:

The basis for the story is appealing and kicks off with a 8 year old boy Akhilesh (Aswath Ram) who lives with his grand mother, starts his journey in search of his mother with a photo and a map. At the beginning of his exploratory journey he meets a mentally challenged person (Mysskin), and both of them will start their trip.

During their trip across the state the boy and Mysskin will come to know different kinds of people, situations and their behaviour.

On their way a commercial sex worker (Snigdha) will join them. Lastly they will get to know the realistic situations which were never seen earlier in their life. And the rest of the film whether the boy meets his mother or not can be watched on big screen with some interesting twists. The film is majorly composed with sad events and often has a light-hearted atmosphere.

Highlights:

The big positive for the film is Illayaraja’s exceptional melodies and background score. And one of the sung by him is very soothing.

The next best plus for the film is Mahesh Muthuswamy’s camera work. Pollachi is shown very beautiful and each every scene is

Mysskin was very impressive and the show stealer with his outstanding performance. He has taken more efforts in donning the role.

Snigdha performance is extraordinary and is apt for the role.

Aswath Ram even though this is his debut he gave his best.

The film mostly resembled like a Japanese film ‘Kikujiru’. Feel like Mysskin was motivated with this film is a big Q?

The film has overdose visual significance, extend shots, and slow moments in second half, exhausted climax.

If your person who prefers art films this would be the best choice.

Bottom line: An art film
