Has the controversy-ridden film unnecessarily exposed hidden wounds to revive the arch rivalry in the Rayalaseema region?
"What happened is truly unfortunate but it is ridiculous to arrive at such baseless conclusions," said Mr Rajkumar, the co-producer of the film.
In recent times, Rakta Charitra triggered protests on varied counts and also created ripples at the box office. First, there were protests over the depiction of late NTR as a scheming politician, forcing producers to chop off the `objectionable` scenes.
Then its sequel Rakta Charitra 2, which came a few weeks later, annoyed Madelacheruvu Suri who ridiculed the late Paritala Ravi (played by Vivek Oberoi) for faking ignorance about the `TV bomb attack` on his house. The maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who firmly believes that any kind of publicity is `good,` had to visit various TV studios to defend his work as "just fiction" and nothing more.
Meanwhile, actor Surya said, "It is truly unfortunate. I am shocked... I have no words to express." Vivek Oberoi, who donned the role of Paritala Ravi in the Raktha Charitra series also expressed his shock over the murder of Suri.
