Malaysia Vasudevan's demise has left many in the music world shocked. One of them is A R Rahman, who shared a great rapport with the celebrated singer, for decades.

Condoling Vasudevan's death, the Oscar-Grammy winner wrote on his social networking page, "You were one of the few who believed in me and gave me my first break as a music producer for the album Disco Disco in 1987."

It is to be noted that songs crooned by Malaysia Vasudevan for Rahman, especially in Bharathiraja's 'Kizhakku Cheemayile', turned out to be all time favourites of those who love the singer.

Meanwhile, Kollywood on Monday continued to pay its last respects to Vasudevan, who died in Chennai on Sunday. Superstar Rajinikanth visited the singer's house and placed a wreath on his body.
